The Lucknowi Chikan

The Lucknowi Chikan focuses on hand embroidery in Lucknowi chikankari, worked through techniques like 1 taar, bakhiya, jaali, chana patti and tikee. Pieces are built on airy bases such as rayon, modal cotton, mulmul, muslin and georgette, then lifted with resham thread work, and on occasion pieces with kamdani, mukaish and aari style detailing. Many styles use ornament accents like pearls and sequins.
